I have a 2002 mxz 440x and i cant keep gas in it.Every day that i go on it i put at least 16$-25$ in it.I was talking to a guy that had one like mine and he said his was really good on gas. Is there anything that i could do to it to make it better on gas.I was thinking it maby the jets and if any one knows what ones would be good for my ski-doo i would like to know...
I have a 700 summit and it was guzzling the gas too. It was also flooding out alot of plugs so i checked my pilot jet and it was a 45!! for that sled it was supposed to be a 17.5. So maybe check with your doo dealer and see what jets are supposed to be in it for stock and then check and see what you have in it. If they are wrong that will make a big difference.
Don't expect great mileage out of a 440 racer. It's a high-revving, high-hp engine (for such a small displacement), which spells gas guzzler. You could try running smaller pilots but in all likelyhood it's not going to make that much of a difference.
