When you fill the sled up at the pump, fill it full to the neck. Put the cap on and go kneel on the rear bumper. Then add the additional gallon of fuel. I know when my idiot light came on and I still rode for another 20 miles, it only took 8.5 gallons to fill it and that included burping it.

Remember, it's just an indicator, not an actual representation.

You can turn the float in the tank to get it close. I set mine when I know I have half a tank. But its better to go by the trip because it's still not real accurate.

I always use trip meter as well.

last year with my 15 8oo ,136 miles light was on for a while .only took 8.9 gal . :wink_old:

Kind of like the REV gas bulb thing that they have. Mine is always showing a half tank or less
