You might want to consider the Tour Buddy set-up. These are not gas "cans" but an aux 4 gal tank that is tied into your main tank. I have one on my 600 and it works great, if you don't mind losing your rear storage it is something to consider.
tour buddy sounds awesome ! Is there a seperate filler for the aux "can". Secondly I love my tunnel bag and use the sh&% out of it. Is there anyway you could strap that bag or a similar one to it. Pics if you got em.
birds has them also
It looks like the 2003 version should fit the new model revs too ?? which is a little 2 gallon guy instead of the 4 gal...then you could still have your tunnel bag if needed.
You stick 4 gallons of gas on your tail ? you realize your chassis is made out of aliminem ?

The Tour Buddy is no problem for the tail end. I rode 2,000 miles with it and a ton of other gear strapped to the rear end on the 2004 Irondog Race. The beauty of the Tour Buddy is that it empties first, before the main tank, so you aren't hauling all that fuel around all day.

It works by taking the main tanks vent line and piping it to the Tour Buddy, then a vent line comes off the Tour Buddy. So are you ride and use fuel it creates a vacuum in your tank, fuel is drawn off the Tour Buddy until it's empty, then you just use what's in your tank. You can ride 140 - 200 miles without filling up, depending on how fast you're riding.

The BRP Jerry can is nice, but you haul it around until you dump it in the tank, until then it's just dead weight ion the rear of the sled. I use my Jerry can to haul race gas to mix with pump gas when ever needing to refuel on the trail.

Here's the Tour Buddy on my 04 600 Renegade.

Here's another alternative to the BRP Jerry can. $40, half the price of BRP's Jerry can.

What about for an 03 still with the beavertail??? I've seen one that went in the back storage compartment. Couldn't have held much, but it would've been an insurance policy. Anybody seen or heard of that or know where i could find one. Any other ideas?
I have a 03 Rev 800 and I need a tank as well, so I did a GOOGLE search by typing in a search for gas buddy ski doo and found a site that sells them. They are a bit pricy compared to the 04 and up models but running out of gas sucks. Oh and by the way they only hold 2 gallons but I guess it's better than nothing.
I think the 03 tank mounts inside of the trunk (2 gal), the 04 (4 gal) and newer go on the tunnel. As Iron Dog said, the fuel is drawn from the aux tank first so the rear end gets lighter as you ride. I bought mine directly from the guys who make them, they were at a show a couple of years ago. I think they are in the Old Forge area or somewhere close by. The only thing I would recommend to modify installation is to wrap the fuel and vent lines that run under the seat with lengths of the rubber coiled wrap that is used on wiring. You can buy this stuff at any parts store or discount store. I thought this would provide some protection for the hoses against friction from rubbing under the seat. Yes you lose storage on the tunnel (for the 121) but I never used it so it was not a problem. I have nothing but positive feedback for this product.
Awesome ! Can I use the 03 style 2 gallon tank on my 2006 adrenaline though ? I don't use the trunk much, but I love my tunnel bag and i'm just looking for a little extra fuel. 2 gallons can go a long way when you know you're low.
