Ok, I'm sure you've all seen this video of the drag race between a Ferrari and a sled

I've always thought skis with wheels like this would be a natural because there is nothing to flip up or down.

Do these exist, or won't they work in ice and snow conditions?

they wouldn't turn for crap on hard pack or ice since it would be the wheels hitting and not carbides. I could see those skis working well for people that don't trail ride, and basically are in the powder or a parking lot, but that's about it.

At one time someone was selling pizza cutters that would go in skis like that, but it must not have been that popular.

Good point, I guess I hadn't thought of that! So some sort of retractable is required after all.

I could see the thought behind the pizza cutters, or rotating carbides, but I'm sure that has all sorts of problems too.

At least the BRP sled beat the Ferrari! LOL :)
