Hi all, I just ordered a new Expedition Sport 600 EFI on the last day of the spring order program. This will be my first new sled, quite a bit has changed since I had my old 2001 Summit in college. The main uses will be ice fishing and some trail riding, but mostly splitting time between MN at Lake of the Woods and the prairie pothole lakes here in ND.

I was looking at the 90L adventure cargo box, but am curious how useful that actually is and whether I would be better off with one of the Action Packer boxes and a set of Linq mounts for half the price. I've found a few pictures in my searches, but not that many with the big 90L box. Mostly just trying to figure out what the best will be for the $750 credit on parts/accessories with the spring order.

I already have an Otter sled with the hitch, cover and runners that I've been using. So the bigger stuff can stay in/on that. I'm thinking of things like my tool bag with drill/batteries and anchor bit, the green propane bottles, snack/drink bag, maybe some spare gloves or warm clothes and other stuff like that.

Here's the current setup with an old Polaris Widetrak that stays at the cabin in MN. The Expedition should ride a bit better with 2 of us on it hopefully!

I think either the Action Packer setup or the 90L cargo box would work fine for what you described. It really depends on your personal preference. I have the 135L cargo box on my Expedition and, while it is expensive, it’s very nice and I prefer it over just an Action Packer setup. Some people just prefer the form and function of the BRP cargo boxes, over a tote, but it definitely comes at a price.
Also, yes, the Expedition Sport will definitely ride better than the old Polaris WT. That will be a great sled and you’ll enjoy it!

I haven’t bought the 90 L box yet, but they’re very nice. I have an assortment of bins loaded for the various things we do, but pull a skimmer for serious fishing when we take a tent, heater, etc.
I really like the Expedition Sport 600 efi at the end of second winter.

Nice set up uno. I wish I went with the brp rack looks like you can fit alot more stuff on there.
I do like the trailbreaker cargo rack I got but not a ton of room to fit the gear.

The liquid cooled Expy has a plastic protector on the tunnel, but you need to keep in mind the heat exchangers are under the cargo area. Before I bought the cargo rack I built a platform that clipped into the LinQ mounts with two bumpers as the rails. It was ok, but the cargo rack is way better and leaves the LinQ attachments free.
Here’s some photos from the build, before I moved to a diamond plate aluminum floor.

this plan was scrapped, fun little build though.

I just built a box. Couldn't justify the expense of a 90 l box that wouldn't do what I wanted anyway.
I bought 2 sets of linq brackets, vas very careful making a frame for the base to fit the sled and built a box.
I wanted to be able to put stuff on the top and be able to close it if it was snowing so I got a set of full extension drawer slides Gas auger head fits inside and I put my ATV gunrack on top to hold the auger part. A rod holder on each side. I don't often use a shelter but when I do I have a otter 2 sled to haul it. Otherwise totally self contained on the sled

Next year I plan on getting a couple more linq sets and making a smaller version for trail riding.

I built a plywood box for my expedition sport. It was way too top heavy! It made the sled extremely tippy. I can’t remember how many times I flipped over. LOL
I knew it was too heavy when I built it. But I had some free plywood laying around. It was about 40 lbs empty.

So I switched to this instead. This box is only a few pounds empty. And I was able to keep all the weight lower. I don’t have any extra room in the box. It’s jammed full, but nothing bounces around.
I know this isn’t a specific ice fishing set up anymore. It’s down to emergency tool kit, chainsaw, ax, gas, fire starter, shovel, extra socks, drinks and food. If we need more gear we pull a Pelican sled.

I see what you are saying acresmax.
Mine could be tippy but I am too new to the sled to know and have only rode established trails so far.
Stuff sure does bounce around in it especially if I don't have auger to keep it full..but man there is room for anything
I may redesign some next fall and at least build a smaller one
