On an 900 ACE Expedition what are the differences between the LE and Sport other than the track width?

Ive got 2015 Expedition sport 600 ace now, and Im looking to ad a 2nd machine. The sports been a great machine. Next machine will a 900 ace. Im in NWO and I do some groomed trail but majority of riding open lakes, unmaintained logging rd. as well a abit of trail breaking. Ice fishing/ occasional trapping sled. I no I dont want a Skandic.

Im just not sure if its worth the extra $$ to upgrade to the LE

Does the LE have underseat storge?

Which machine is preferable depends entirely on where you live, and how you use sleds.

As stated, the biggest difference are the track width and transmission. There are other differences, like storage, battery location, seating, etc.

If you live somewhere with regular freeze/thaw cycles, that provide a goods base no matter what the snow depth, I'd say the sport is a better choice. If you live somewhere the snow depths never get that great, same thing. Even if you live where the snow gets deep, but you like to mostly stick to the beaten path, the same holds true. In general, a skinny track sled will be more "fun", easier to handle, easier to work on, lighter and sportier than any wide track.

That said if you live somewhere with a lot of snow fall, very little freeze/thaw cycle, you like to get off into unexplored territory, then the LE might be a better choice.

There are exceptions to every rule of course. You might live somewhere where warm temps make the snow very heavy, and the low gear makes the LE a better choice. Or, you might live where cold temps and wind mean the snow is always firm, and the sport will get around perfectly well.

Both are really capable, and either could be the perfect choice, depending on where you live, and your personal preferences.

If you are hauling heavy loads there is no question that the le is better. 1st gear and the widetrack make it possible to do things the sport will never do. Personally for what i do mostly which is snaking through trees in the bush with loads, my le is always in 1st gear and eco mode. Le is a great work machine. I also have a sport with the 600 ace and that is a great fun machine, much lighter and easier to ride.

The 2020 LE has a removable seat. There is no underseat storage but there is a sealed storage behind the seat. This is where the battery is so there isn't a lot of room. I got the glove box extension on my 2020 and it is a fantastic worthwhile accessory because aside from the added storage it keeps things warm like spare gloves, binoculars your lunch etc.

The underseat storage (yes, it's under the passenger seat) rooms a lot for me..

I'm bringing this stuff in the underseat storage:

-One set of wool underwear, extra boxer shorts, socks, mittens and gloves

-First aid kit, emergency survival bag, extra eye bolt or the sledge, jump start cables, 15m tow rope (I had to use this rope three times this weekend)
