Hey everyone,

Just curious as to everyone’s thoughts on the summerization mode? Getting ready to put my sled away for the season and I’ve read some things on how the summarization feature fouls out plugs?

Any merit or factual basis to this?

Just fire the sled up every other month. Put non ethanol gas in the tank a gallon or 2. Probably wont foul the plugs but they sure do smoke like hell when you start them in the winter following yr.

Never had a problem using it, 2016 ETEC 2020 ETEC.

Other then the quantity of smoke at first start up, there are no cons to summerizing your sled.

Having the internals coated in a little extra oil while the sled sits for months is well worth the slight chance of having to replace a couple spark plugs, in my opinion.

As stated above, I think it's probably worth having to change plugs every other season, at least that's the interval I settled on.

I only use non ethanol fuel, no stabilizer, and keep the tank full all summer. Then come fall I pump it all out into my cars, and full with fresh fuel for the season.

Just keep starting it does the same thing. Either way works fine. But if you want to park and forget it for months id summarize it and yank the battery

Ive had 4 600ETECs. Two would go into summerization mode no problem. Two never would. Never had a running problem with any of them. I think how and where you store them is the most important thing. Store them in a low humidity environment. Don’t leave them in an unventilated trailer.

Had etec since 2010. Summerized every year. Had rebuild the motor in 2016. I was shocked at how clean that motor inside was. It does really work.

Starting and spinning the track keeps things fresh and the wheels from locking up .Then fresh plugs in the fall .Also something like wd 40 on things that can rust etc .

2018 Renegade 850 just turned 3400 miles. Still on original plugs and have used the summarization mode every spring. For me the key is that I don't start it in fall until I'm ready to take it out for a decent ride, not just start it up to let it idle. Works great for me.

The horror of having to replace spark plugs to preserve crank, pistons, bearings.... Don't trust those BRP engineers; they are in cahoots with "Big Oil" (2-stroke oil) - no value in "hitting the button." It's too much effort and they just want to sell more oil.
