Last ride last year all my lights and gauges quit working. Getting ready to look at it now. any ideas? is there a master fuse or could it be stator? any thoughts are appreciated.

The first thing I would check, is the voltage regulator... That could be your problem..

I would say it most likely will be a stator issue! I highly doubt a voltage regulator,
Call me And i would be happy to explain and help you out with your problem.

Hello...

Had the same issue on a 1998 Mach 1. Lost all gauges and lights. Changed the voltage regulator and tested the stator (there is a procedure in the manual for testing the voltage of the stator).

I checked all of the wiring and the wires under the motor were fixed in the past. Found a short at the oil tank. The sender lead for the oil was shorting on the pan it sits on.

FYI...any short will kill all power.... After this experience I would unplug stuff until you get power back (if stator is good). For example, you can uplug the main harness that runs to the gauges right at the hood hinges. This is anohter place for shorts...

Good luck...Remember, any sender wire short will cut your gauge / lights power.

Check wiring at the handle bars that was my issue the wires were getting pinched in the steering stops, i repaired them and rerouted them and the prob was fixed.

The same thing happened on my 98Z. The sled was running great, never missed a beat. 5 min.into the ride I noticed my tach had quit and then realized everything other than my speedo was out.Turned out to be the lighting coil on the stator.
