I am just looking for some input on what most think or have experienced running these gages , weather it is really a good idea to use them. I have them on my sled. I just find I am always looking at them and wondering is it running to lean or hot. I have seen them at 1240 degrees and yet the temperature gage is sitting at a quarter of the way up. Am I being paranoid on this ?

Thanks in advance

Your exhaust gas is 1240 not engine temp, but you should check your jetting you should not go over 1200 to be safe. I would make sure your probes are the right distance from the piston skirt

What's proper distance. I out mine where the springs and bands are that hold the heat shield on. Removed them and put the clamps in that spot. (Gear clamps)

Four inches (400mm) from the piston skirt
