Dyno Numbers for the 800R

I don't know if anybody posted this or not yet. The new Snow Tech mag just came in the mail. They dyno tested the new 800R to see if in fact it did put out 151hp. This was a brand new 800R out of the box no mods. 149.6 max not broke in yet was the max. Not bad! They figure they would get another 4-5hp once broke in. With re-jetting another 1-2hp. Looks like BRP has a winner.

Doesn't that motor have liquid cooled cases? What are the other differences from the series III 800?

Liquid cooled case, monoblock cylinder and because of the monoblock design they have apparently done some changes to porting!

And probably 50 other things...

Man I've had nothing but reliable engines from doo for the past 7 years. I guess Viper and I are the only two

You can count me in there too, all burndowns were caused by my inexperience or failure to listen to good advice from tuners!

Same here. I have such good luck with my doo's that I wish I could use them for daily drivers...
I thought I read that the 800r wont make power at lower alt. like where I'm at. Like below 1500ft. Is there any truth to that statement?

My '05 800 has over 4600 miles. I have only changed the rings once. I sure hope the new 800R can hang!
