Dropping 2 teeth on top

I'm gearing down my '03 600 and was wondering if I can get away with the stock chain or doo I need to drop a link? I'm not sure where my tensioner is at right now since I haven't gotten the sled out of the trailer and into the garage yet. Just wanted to know what others have experienced.

Yes, you can use the stock chain length - but if your sled is an 03 with over 2,000 - 3,000 miles on it, you better replace the chain and both sprockets. Otherwise you'll have mismatched sprockets/chain from uneven wear - which will lead to more costly problems down the trail

If you're changing them all anyway, go two larger on the bottom - that will take up some slack in the chain after it stretches.

You can keep the same chain, I did it last year.
