Just picked up an 04 800X and went to adjust the steering column and noticed that it doesn't have the forward set of holes like my 03 does. Anyone know why doo did this?? I'm sure others have drilled the forward holes, anything to watch out for?

Real easy, just put the post forward and put the bolt in the back hole. instant alignment for the front. Mark it and drill. Put a rag below to catch the metal shavings.

Also note that you should be able to just replace the bracket with one from an 03' if you don't feel comfortable drilling holes in your sled. The 03' part # 518 322 546. The cost is $36.47. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the info, drilled the holes last week. Makes a big difference with the bars in the forward position.

When moving the post forward is there anything else to concider? What happens to the lower mount? I mean it has to bend or give in some way when you tilt the post forward right?
