Yes. The water came off brown and gross on mine. My brother's BCXRS had cosmoline coating his clutches and his belt was filthy to. Light soap and water on belt and dry over night. Acetone on clutches.

I'd be curious if someone that usually cleans but didn't responded back with what they thought.

Just rode on a new belt Sunday without cleaning. Clutch faces are still clean looking

I drop mine off at the laundromat to be cleaned and pressed. So nice and fresh.

To remove any mold release left by the belt manufacturing process.

To remove any glazing and general belt gunk.

I remove my belt and clean both it and the clutches after every trip.
same here, its just too easy not to do. also a great time to inspect clutches/oil resi for anything out of the ordinary
