I rode down the trail to the powder with sway bar connected, disconnected once powder was reached, on the way back to truck on trail I forgot to reconnect sway bar and never even noticed they were not connected.
I guess I should have disconnected the factory connection and tried it out before spending money on quick connects, live and learn. All the ready I did on disconnecting sway bar led me to believe that riding on a trail would be next to impossible, guess I bought them out of fear. I think I'll be removing the sway bar completely.

X2 on this. Sway bar works by tying one side to the other to share suspension capability. Connected gives more resistance by trying to push unweighted side up at same time increasing resistance on the weighted side to help level/control front end. Unhook one side and it's completely disconnected with the linkage just going through the motion on the connected side. The advice on 2 disconnects was not very accurate.
I bought a single disconnect 2 rides ago and I noticed a night and day difference. My sway bar is hitting my a arms so I am just going to cut the the bar off. I don't think I will ride with the sway bar again don't have to shift my weight over anywhere near as much.
Opposite to what I doo.
When removing sway bar I add preload to my ski shocks.
Stiffer suspension responds to rider input better, soft shocks make the sled ride mushy IMO
Don't want to hijack thread but is it pretty much a no brainer to remove the sway bar on xp's? I did on my Rev and it helped a lot, but I thought I read a lot of guys with xp's kept the bar. I do have T motion and s36 on my sled.
I disconnected my swabar and noticed a huge diffrence. I don't think mine will be going back on, its easier to balance on one ski now for me...its a wild ride on the trail but it was before anyway so whatever.
While your sled is sitting in the garage. Stand on one side and give your handle bars a yank. Your sled will roll right over. Now connect your linkage and try in again. HUGE difference.

Going to sell both of them and the sway bar when I remove it lol
