a few ways, if you have twin pipes or triple feel which pipe is hot/cold the cold one is the fouled one. you can do the same thing on the head feel which head feels colder(this is a little harder to distinguish), if you have single pipe you can also grab one side of the y pipe and see which side is hot, just be careful right after shut down as the running side WILL be HOT! or the easiest way pull all plugs and see which one is wet! lol
the side that is fouled should be warmer then the one not , and the plug on the fouled side usually looks very wet or worse, it definalty is better not to change both becuase you want to find out whitch side the problem was on incase it happens again and have it taken care of
