My dad has a 98 chev 1500 pickup. Whenever we have alot of rain or blowing snow it funnels under the bonnet. The distributer is drenched with water and the truck will not turnover, we have to dry it with a hairdryer in order for it to start. Has anyone else had this problem and if so what did they do?

i live on the coast and manage an auto repair shop, what we have found is that usually when this happenes the customer is parking with the nose into the wind, if so...turn the truck around also use good quality part's..it really makes a difference!

Thanks for the help guys! we are gonna try partking the truck the other way but the wind can switch around pretty easily here so i dunno if its gonna make a difference. When we replaced the wires and distributer we used GM parts.
