I will be riding from the north side of Big manistique lake this weekend. I know they are hurting for snow in the ditches getting to the trail, but I guess the trails north are reasonable.

I would like to ride up to Seney and then to Grand Marais. Can anyone give me the conditions of the trails going north from Curtis.

Thanks.

just came back from newberry sunday,we had trailer to the trail head not enough snow in town to get thier and all the roads are dirt, once in the grand marais trail system it was groomed preety good but 10 miles out of newberry was rough 3 foot mogules.we had to call it a day about 3:00 sat they had another melt down in grand marais.getting gas was a real treat you had to ride about 8 miles of dirt and cement.but things should be looking better for this weekend thier is a winter storm warning out.im heading back up tomorow till mon.we would have had to cancel if they did not have this storm coming through.i would recomend dropping at county road 421 just north of newberry, i know seney is all dirt and if you sall seney they will lie out thier teeth thats were im staying this weekend and the girl at the lodge said thing were great on tues. i just came back so i knew they wernt. good luck grand marais should be good.

Well I found a computer in Three Lakes, 3 Lakes Motel great place (906)323-6101 so here's an update. The rail grade out of St. Ignace was awesome this morning 80 mph with no problems 11 out of 10. Going west out of Trout Lake was very good until 10 miles east of Newberry. From there until Curtis starts going was good. From North of Curtis until Seney was Fair Much better then the Doo talk ride Dale. From Seney to the Bear Trap was Awesome 10 inches of fresh snow. The trail from Miners Castlel south to the Coalwood grade was rough and we were in a blizzard with 100 feet of Vis. They were double grooming the Coalwood grade which was in great shape. From the Brownstone to the Casino was very good. Got thin from the Casino to the Welcome area (log) in Marquette. From there to 3 lakes was very good except Isheming which needed 2-3 inches of snow in town. To sum it up from 9 to 4 pm 250 miles, 6 was poor, 15 was fair 15 was good the rest was very good to excellent. They are calling for lake effect west of here with up to 6 inches tonight will update tommorrow if I find a computer.

Great to hear your report. Sounds like we will be cruising up north of Seney to enjoy that fresh snow. Thanks for the report.
