my first thought would be a failing crankshaft position sensor. I've seen lots of them go in passenger vehicles with nothing else wrong with the engine.

It could be a bad crankshaft position sensor or a delaminated flywheel. I had the latter on my 09 1200. It caused erratic low RPM operation and CPS codes to be thrown. I doubt a bearing is the issue.

The 600 ace engine have a tendency on occasion to snap the flywheel key, more then likely as suggested it's a faulty CPS.
