Rode 600 miles in Matawaska ME this weekend and coolant light was on the whole time. Comes on after sled has been running for only about 2 minutes and occasionally flickers, but never overheated. Coolant bottle is full, no leaks and engine and head were pretty cool to the touch. Probably a defective coolant temp switch but was wondering if anyone else has had a similar priblem. Also throttle requires lots of effort. Seems like oil pump arm is real stiff. Has skidoo had any issues with pumps. My sled is 2004 MXZ800 X

Sounds like your temp sensor is bad.Check your cable routing.Sometimes it gets tangled between the air box and carbs.

check out your thermostat and make sure its still in one piece, I just melted my motor down because the T-stat fell apart and the large ring on the top got lodged in the head, restricted coolant and melted down a piston, got too hot, real fast!!!

Any resolution to your coolant light? Mine does the same thing......flickers as soon as I start the sled.

Check for a short. If the wire shorts out the light will come on. That is how the sensor works
