Overheated my 11 154" summit the other day turns out to be a water pump failure after pulling engine and finding the water/oil pump shaft gears to be stripped out on one side. My question is why?? Both bearings seem like they turn freely and does the oil pump.why is there nothing that seems to be the obvious cause for the shaft to lock up there was good oil in the cavity aside from the plastic from the gear coming apart. Any imput would help. Oil pump delete? or not? Any input will help.
