I'm looking for recommendations for a women's chest protector / Armor / Armour. My wife is currently using a Icon Stryker vest for women.

However, this is actually NOT a chest protector! I finally read the fine print on the manual and this note is highlighted and bolded. It is actually just a back protector.

Any ideas are appreciated!

I have done some research for threads on here but they are pretty old.

Couple notes to help with the responses.
1. She doesnt like the bulk of the Tek Vest that is sold with all sorts of suppliers. I.e. klim, ski-doo, tekrider, etc.

2. I contacted the Diva company. They dont provide a womens specific Tek Vest anymore. They also said their previous vest was actually the same Tek Vest with just a womens design pattern. Not a womens specific cut/shape.

3. Must be a "chest protector" and not a roost protector that is just for rocks and things. I'm leaning toward something that has D3O.

4. She is 5'4" with a small/medium build and a bit "chesty." She loves the fit of this Icon vest because it has a shorter torso.

Thanks all!

My wife wears the Super Sport Tekvest and loves the fit. She doesn't use the neck wrap that comes with it as its removable. It may be useful on really cold days?
A few years back the Super Sport was available with BRP branding/colors. I'm not sure if this is still an option.

Rita who handles the customer service at Tekvest is awesome to deal with!

^This X2.

My wife has worn the TekVest Super Sport for several season now. She likes it. We went with the Super Sport after talking to Steve Brand and Rita at TekVest. Rita seems to recommend the Super Sport for women. My wife has never used the removable collar as she found it too restrictive. For this reason, she would probably be fine with the Freestyle - or any of the co-branded versions like Klim, BRP or DSG - whatever you get the best deal on.

I wear a Trail Pro and like the seemingly added protection of the solid front; if I could do it over, I would probably just buy a Trail Pro for my wife. Some people like the zippered front as opposed to slipping it over your head as with the Trail Pro, but I do not find it to be a big deal.

I actually wear the hypervest and love it. I tied one for my wife and she didn't care for it. She said the high shoulder pads (I did remove the arm pads for her) and torso length closed up around her neck and affected her head movement. I could maybe try sizing her down even more, but this is where a womans shape can get her too um, smooshed.

Is this the 509 you are referring to?

Any experience of women wearing it?

Demon United also makes full tops call flexforce with D30 flexible foam that get hard on high impact. My daughter wears one for back country skiing. You can add pads and remove some for better fit . I have three Hyper vest but they do tend to ride up more when moving around . The full upper body shirt allows more movement .

My fiance switched to a women's specific Leatt Jacki 4.5 chest protector and she loved it. She wore a Tekvest for a year but didn't like the fit. I actually sold my Freestyle Tekvest after wearing one for 10+ years and got a similar men's Leatt 4.5 chest protector after her reviews. It still protects your ribs and stomach and wraps around your torso but without the bulky, wide shoulder plates. I still think a Tekvest is probably the most protection you can get but the Leatts have been a good compromise between protection and bulk.

Thanks, great post. The Jacki 4.5 does look like it should be at the top of the list. Which Tekvest model did she dislike? The folks at Tekrider have said that Super Sport is the way to go for women.

Update: My wife is going with the tekvest super sport this year.

Thanks everyone for the great responses.

She tried on the small and really liked the style and feel but thought it might be a bit big. Tried the extra small and instantly said it was perfect. She tried on with all her riding gear and loves it. Hope the love keeps up when the snow falls.

Also as an FYI... I will not be wearing the demon hyper x d30 this year. I've lost confidence in the vest. (My rationale here Chest Protector-Please think about wearing one )

I'm now trying to decide between the super sport and the trail pro.

I've also talked a lot with the folks at tekrider. Just a fantastic company!
