two seasons ago the oil pump on my 2001 mxz 600 went bad. according to the dealer it is designed to over pump when it goes bad to keep from frying the motor. once I realized the machine was burning too much oil the pump was replaced. Since the repair I still foul more plugs than normal. My question is, due to the engine burning too much oil are the valves or any other engine part possibly coated with excessive carbon causing it not perform properlyand in need of cleaning?
RAVE valves may need cleaning. Check your ratio of oil useage. The pump may still need to be adjusted. If ratio is correct then it maybe an excessive fuel problem. Carbs may need cleaning, needle and seat may need replaced, choke may be corroded on inside and hanging up, fuel pump diaphragm bad, or the primer is bad.
