Can i make my own gaskets for the rave valves by buying gasket material instead of getting them from ski-doo?

Yes, Make sure you have the right thickness.

Mike
what is the proper thickness for those gaskets?
Why would you want to make your own? Are they THAT expensive or don't you have a local dealer or something?
I think when I bought mine they were only 3.00 each...I do have my old ones if you are really stuck..They are in excellent condition..Ya can have them..
Why would you even contemplate making your own gaskets, when like said in the above post, they are only $3.00 each? Why risk doing damage to your sled by skimping on such a cheap item. Just my .02 worth.

Yeah you can make them. I have a new set laying around, I'll measure them up for you when I get home tonight....

6 bucks saved is equivalent to one of the following:
- 2.7 gallons of gas, or about 40 miles on the trail
- 6 draft beers
- Pint of Hot darn
- Large size value meal at Ralley's
- Entry fee to High School football game with money left for popcorn
- An hour phone call to your parents

Why not save a couple bucks where possible??

Me? I don't need anything. Just helping a guy out.

I'm sure you can phone up any Doo dealer and they send them to you, a stamp does'nt cost that much.

Nothing? Aw c'mon everybody could use something. Its about a hour round trip to my nearest dealer, if thats all I needed (gaskets) I would make em to, unless I could reuse the old ones.
Well Andy has a set on the way now..When I cleaned my rave valves I bought a new set just in case..Turned out that I didn't tear the old ones and they are in fine condition, so I sent them to Andy...
For future reference a new set of RAVE valve gaskets measured out at .033" thick.

Recieved gaskets today, thanks. But they wont fit cause they are diferent shape then my ones. I can still use the orings though.
