My advise is to buy a real motorcycle. Only legitimate reason to own one of these is if you have a disability and can’t ride a bike… otherwise stay in a car. I feel like these things are designed for people that are two scared to ride a real motorcycle. That is not a good thing considering the skill and attention it takes to ride a bike. It’s harsh, but that’s the reality of it.

If you fit in the category where you are unable to ride a motorcycle for one reason or another, then good for you for your dedication to the sport.

I have been riding bikes for 50+ years... The last 5 of those bikes were GoldWings...There comes a time in your riding life when it's time to say goodbye to a heavy behemuth 2 wheeled motorcycle...Trying a new riding experience is more of what im looking forward to...I do miss my 1975 Kawi 750 H2 "Widowmaker"...

^^^ As someone who used to be on the road for work, I can say that's another advantage of the Spyders/Rykers, they're a lot easier to see.

Easier to see = safer.

In my 30 years on the road the only fatal accident I ever saw was a guy on a bike - car driver turned left in front of him, bike T-boned the car. It was bad.

I have a spyder RTL. It is a real bike! I have ridden a shadow, magma, volcan, wing and Harley. I had a beautiful new 2003 springer until 2014 . Been riding since 86. I have way over 100,000 on bikes and will say I put 14000 on my spyder last year And loved every minute. It’s the best ride I have ever been on. My dad has 125000 miles on his 2015 spyder. He’s ridden since the 60s. It’s a great ride. I have ridden a 900 ryker (rally) not a 600. Low to ground and lots of torque at start. Fun, skippy, light ride. f3 is a step up much more room and comfort more feet up vs forward on the ryker. Rt is touring and totally plush. If you’re not doing 150 mile each day and just playing around the 600 vs 900 is fine. it will do 70 with no problem. The roads are not trails. Much more enforcement so why go 90? Plenty of power just lighter feeling. Enjoy the ride and wind on your face vs speedy rocket getting somewhere.

safety! Yep my wife has been on the back for probably 10000 miles out of 21000 on my spyder. She will never sit on another 2 wheeler again. I agree everyone sees a spyder. It unique and eye catching Vs a bike is smaller and everywhere. I’ve been in rain that no way would I imagine keep going on a bike but didn’t worry on the spyder. It’s a great engineered piece of machinery that BRP put together. I have a SXS, wheeler and sleds. The engineering behind the spyder blows all them away.

While I have never owned a Spyder or Ryker I will say they impress me and for the right price on a used one I would have one in a heart beat. Heck if a company made a street legal gas / electric shopping cart I would probably give that a try.

I get kick out of people that say buy a " real bike " and I certainly hope alot of them are joking.
Wife and I both have 650 adventure bikes. Hers is a BWM and mine a KLR... yes a KLR , I'm actually on my third one. I consider them bikes ...but we have friends that have Harleys and they will not ride with us. They say there not real bikes, its actually pricless the way they think.

My wife test drove a Spyder for a few hours and was all smiles afterwards , said it was fun.

Long and short of it , buy what suits your needs and ride the wheels off of it !!

Longtime sledeer, I’m not sure if you’re close to Chicago but look this place up...... imotorsport.com. They have great prices, free delivery, cheapest BEST warranty in the US, and not far from you. You can do everything online and over the phone and your spyder arrives at your doorstep. Lots of guys have used them over on spyderlovers. Just assuming your Chicago because of your insignia. Hate this new site it used to say where you were located under your name. Looking on the site lots of 900. They will deal, join spyderlovers for an extra discount and post at least once. Link below

Safety-still need led headlights and will be adding spot lights in the spring On the a-arms. Lots of lights lots of attention. I have the strobebrake lights and at night the entire side and rear is lit up with leds. I’m bigger than a Chevy spark and actually sit higher than most cars. No problem seeing her “my Bella“

I owned a 100 year anniversary Harley "Dyna Wide Glide". Ok bike, most all accessories made in Taiwan, poor mileage, vibrate your teeth out at 55mph. Resale was horrible. Bought a Honda VTX 1300c, what a great bike, great mileage, smooth, quality and half the price of my Harley! Harley is all hype, not worth the money and never will be in my opinion. I want a Ryker 900, they are a sweet ride.

I've had a few Honda from the '70's and 80's. Have a '01 HD Road King now and don't have the HD ''attitude''.
That said the HD has the right sound IMO but it's no big deal anymore since they flooded the market in '03.
I had the chance to ride a Spyder prototype when they went around to the dealers at their intro. and several later models as they progressed.
Stabil as hell, way more safer than HD or Goldwing trikes by a mile. They will wail around the turns way harder than one would expect. For touring or physical issues it's the way to go to keep or enjoy riding and they let the wife get to drive also without any 2 wheel drama.
If it's got handlebars it's a bike period, unlike a Slingshot.

Bike, short for bicycle… bi, meaning two. I mean, we can call it a trike or tricycle lol. I like bike with training wheels haha.

I love my Ryker, but it seems there is a design flaw that Ca-am/BRP can’t figure out. Before buying one be sure to check the National Highway Transportation Agency complaints - even after a ‘fix’ was in place scores of riders report ‘death wobble’ and issues with brakes/VSS. You can also search social media for the same. Mine was in the shop for more than 4 months. Yikes
