I recently installed a turbo setup. It no longer uses the stock air box. I want to move my post forward. Do I need the straight steering shaft? Or can I get away without it since I no longer have an airbox. I dont want to buy the steering shaft if I dont need it.

You shouldn't need the straight shaft. Just make sure there's enough clearance between the arc and the frame crossmember (between the shock towers). I used a curved RS post with my C3 PFK and it worked like a charm

I installed a post forward on my 09 this summer, deleted the upper airbox and was able to use the factory steering stem.
