just installing my first set of duponts!! I notice the inserts don't go all the way to the rear idler? Nearly a foot short, my old sliders wear in that area pretty steadily and fast, if you flip the duponts around and drill a new hole it will cut the distance in half and still provide the wear inserts just infront of the front idlers which is heavy wear too... anyone done this? Just curious!!!

The shorter Duponts need about 7 more inserts to cover the remaining piece of the slider to the rear. I buy the longer units ( part number ends in 816 ), re-drill the mount hole to be just in front of the first insert and then cut to length. This gives me insert coverage for the entire length. My sled has the 129" track.

The ones in the pic have 600kms on them! Installed them late last season for our last ride in Cochrane.. we launched in kirkland lake and went up thru Timmons/shinning tree.. morning conditions were tight and the ice scratchers were doing as much as they could.... I could run them longer but had it apart anyway as I did a bunch of suspension work anyway

Burned through stock set at 1100 miles. Put Yamaha DuPonts on. 5k miles later no issues. Not even a mark on them.

I found them in a corner in my machine shop. These are the 1st set of replacements removed in Feb' 2019 @ 3500 klicks.

They were installed before a thousand klicks were on the sled. My friend & were both shocked at the wear. His was much more telling as he had very little road running in his travels.

i have a set of dupont sliders on my Gade, i don't think i'll be buying another set, one slider wore through there's minimal inserts left on the right slider. i'm going to buy myself a set to keep on hand just to be ready to replace them if needed. i have maybe 3000km on them and set my tension to doos recommended
