:) Hello !

Can someone tell the differences between the BRP drive belts 417 300 288 vs. 417 300 425

I can not find any information about the "425" drive belt.

The 425 is a race belt.

Only available through the race dept.
No, over here in Europe you can buy it at the dealer.

I have used the previous RS-600 drive belt 417 300 288 with great success,

and want to know what differs compared to the newer 417 300 425 drive belt ?

no need to get them from the race dept. but it's unlikely your dealer will have them in stock.

A 425 worked great on my MOD 600 ... a 288 got shredded after a couple showdrags ... 425 is wider!

40 mm for width and everything else is the same, if its the same treatment as the 391 800 etec belt then I guess its hard rubber. seems about right, but i don't know for sure.

Its exactly the same belt except 425 is 0,3 mm wider.

???

You guys telling me two completly different answers !!

* johan karlsson ---> 37,7 mm + 0,3 mm = 38,00 mm wide.

* adamadam ---> 37,7 mm + 2,3 mm = 40,00 mm wide.

After the 288..... Doo added a compound to better hold the strands and about 1/2 mm +/- wider than the 288 is the difference.

A wider belt is generally better all things being equal. I won't go into detail but it changes the shift pressure as well. 95% of riders would not feel it on that small of a change.

It would be noticeable at the start..for a milli second..

BUT..

The Doo ramp may counteract any change has it holds the roller on the start too long.....so =

I don't break them in...and its noticeable ...more rapid change in belts before it settles down after the 288 model.
