Just got back from picking up my new 2014 MXZ 800x. Man these sleds are impressive! Im coming off a 2012 Cat turbo which looked like it was designed and put together by a shop class for a project sled, man im so glad to be rid of that Piece of junk.

This new DOO is really nicely designed and put together, I will be pulling her apart to install my ice attack XT track, which the carton says 35lbs which is 2 pounds less then the original specs i got from camo. This 1.22" track sure is nice...it actually measures taller then the stock ripsaw, and has very hard lugs, should hold up well.

Lots to do now installing all the goodies!

Congrats! I picked mine up today too, identical sled although I'm going a little lighter on the mods. 84 Phantoms, adjustable Doo riser, and some handguard extensions for now. Still deciding on whether I need a tunnel bag....Looks good, Enjoy!

Congrats! I have a 14 600X orange - the more I look at it walking by it in the garage the more I like it. Your picture does justice!

Are you going to install the LED light too? That thing is stupid bright!!!

I love that orange Dan! You are going to love that Doo ride and handling.

I agree with ya about the Cat. But what took you guys so long to figure out it's a complete pile of crap?

I see you have a track to change, let me know the drive shaft fits on yours. Be sure to install the gear and retaining clip before you reassemble the brake rotor/caliper Assembly, with my sled tonight it would pull the shaft over enough that the clip for the gear would not fit into the grove if the brake side was assembled first. Maybe this has been cover but the last few xp's I have done they did not have this issue. Pulled mine apart an extra time in search of an issue, none found. Anyways great looking sled! Gutted my black X like a pig today! Good luck on the build.

Dan, give us a full comparo vs the cats construction when you get a chance. I even challenge the Yamaha fan boys to comment on doo build quality. IMO the doo is a very high end production piece.

Thanks everyone!

Jamie, Mike and Rodder....we were all cat turbo guys and we all tried to re-engineer those turbos, while they were sick fast(134 TD powered) they were just such junk....Im sure there are many more of us coming over here to DOO, whether it be 1200 or 800s. I was very close to going with the 1200 as Jamie knows. But after several mach zs, and then the 06 apex(my baby) and then the cat turbo. I just felt i wanted to stop modding and ride. And be light for once!

I have to say, i picked up the front end of this 800X with such ease it blows my mind....im so psyched to ride this winter, especially after Dano swapped last season with me several times in the rough, he took the turbo and gave me his 2013 XS etec, and i was always blown away how i could ride so much faster in the bumps, or smooth. that cat was fast as hell but rode like a brick, and the seat felt like a darn brick! haha.

I did so much work on that cat, and would cut my hands just doing something basic....so I ended up wearing gloves at all times working on it....well I worked today on the new doo, and no gloves, track swap and not one cut! haha.

First off....this is the nicest sled to work on IMO made to date! I built my apex after a NOS mishap, had to built a new motor here in my shop, and that was a "edit for bad language", although the apex was a nicely engineered sled. But i have to say this new DOO is just a pleasure to work on, im so impressed by the thought and engineering in this chassie. Everything is Powercoated, even most the bolts and nuts, WOW! I took my time swapping the track out, first DOO ive touched since way back in my CK3 days, but i got it swapped out in about 3.5 hrs, not too bad but next time would be much much faster for sure.

I took a ton of pics as usual, and comparo pics of the stock track VS my new ice attak XT 1.22", love this track, and how light it is with studs compared to a traditionally studded track. The box actually says 35lbs, but my bathroom scale showed 37.5lbs

The ice attack xt 1.22" is actually taller then the stock 1.25" ripsaw. And the lugs are far far stiffer, no tiny finger to bend over either.

first pic is ice attack 36.5mm lug

second is stock track 34.5mm lug
