Like the title states my 16 xrs has some serious damage. I brought it to the dealer for an insurance quote and they don't mention repairing the hole that the E module destroyed in the tunnel.. I

n your opinion does this machine need a new tunnel? I drive my children around whenever mother nature cooperates, so I don't need any risk of the front end falling off..

Isn’t that hole in the s-module?

If there is a hole in the tunnel I would consider welding it to avoid the sled being written off. BUT, more information about the mileage and condition would be helpful to offer you some advise.

From what I can see, that hole is where the s module bolts to the e module. That is not the tunnel. I think you put a plate behind that hole and bolt thru all of it.

Ok thanks for the help. I guess I didn't quite get that the E module was powdercoated like the tunnel is. I just assumed that was the tunnel.

I truly don't know. I hit a open water hole pretty hard. Put on another 500 miles and could tell something wasn't "right". 2 others rode the sled and didn't mention it. Got home and thawed the sled out good and flipped it on its side and this is what I found. I'm guessing it happened and then got worse and worse.

Are you fixing it yourself? If that stud pulled out is the only damage to the e-module, it can be repaired IMO. I repaired one exactly like that for a friend. I made a steel plate with a bolt through it welded to the plate to replace the missing stud.

I already bought a new sled. I would like to sell it damaged or I will let the dealer repair it and then sell it.
