I'm thinking of spoiling myself and upgrading my Klim Aurora lace boots to the new Klim Aurora GTX Boa boot. I love my current boots, but the laces are a pain. I ride about 6000Km a winter and I've been riding with my current boots for about 5 years. They're a bit worn, but still have some life in them. I'd be getting the new ones strictly to save my fingers, be able to let my feet breathe at lunch without unlacing. The biggest difference between the boots is that the Boas have a bit less insulation, but on really cold riding days, I use my ski boot batteries so my toes don't get cold.
I'm wondering if anyone rides with Boas and if you can give me your opinion if the system really is as good as it looks to be in videos and reviews.
Thanks
Carole

I had the Klim Adrenaline BOA as well and I loved them. I will never go back to boots with laces. Obviously they are easier to put on but the best thing for me was how easily they came off. just pop the knobs, pull on the tongue and you're out. Once you have a pair you'll kick yourself for not getting them sooner.

BOA as a company has a lifetime warranty

Doesn't do you a lot of good when you are in the middle of no where and blow out one of the BOA systems.

I recommend buying an extra BOA system to have in your gear bag, for the just in case. But with that said, I have had multiple BOA lace boots; but I also have many boots with standard lacing. It's a love/hate relationship for certain reasons, but have only blown out one BOA system (wasn't their fault, took a hard knock to the ratchet with a tree one time).

I always have a spare pair of boots in the gear bag regardless. But my latest primary go to boot is a Tobe with the BOA system. Loving this boot overall. Excellent support in the ankle (super stiff), good arch support, warm but not too warm, and lastly my feet stay dry and they breath well. It's not a flashy boot, but very functional. I've been through Klim, many snowboard boots, and HMK. Will never touch a pair of HMK's again in my life. I think a a Wonder Bread bag breaths better and lets less water in.

i have snowbaorded with the BOA system for the last fifteen years about 75 days on snow per season, only had two pair of Atomic boots in that whole time when the first pair got old i used them for snowmobiling , finally when they compltely died i got FXR boa boots, i have never had a wire break, or a ratchet wheel or anything they are very dependable and i would recomend them to everyone

If your BOA system fails, will your boots come flying off? No...sure it’s not ideal, but it’s not like laces where you can patch ‘em back together if needed. I like how with laces, I’ve got some strong string I could use in case of emergency, although it seems like a full 50 yards I have to stuff into my boot after I’m done tying them. If I would have had the option for BOA’s when I bought my Adrenaline GTX’s, I would have purchased them instead. Quicker and easier, for sure. First world problems.

Voile Ski Straps pack small and are a great reusable duct tape/zip tie companion.

I have the Tobe Contego Boots with dual adjuster boa. Absolutely love them. You can adjust the top and bottom independently to get the fit you want. Rode in-20F and these kept my feet warm with a single pair of socks.

Been using the Cabela's Boa Snow Runner Max boots for the past 3 years and love them. Very reasonably priced. They aren't the warmest boot I've used (440 grams Thinsulate) but I just use thermal socks if it's going to be below zero for the day. The Boa system is fantastic, I love it. I've had the dial pop off/break because it got hooked on my running board when I stepped off once. Boa sent free replacement no questions asked. I like them enough that I assume they'll quit making them so I bought another pair. Still new/unused, I just keep them in my truck as a cold weather safety kit.

I picked up a pair of Castle Boa boots and have been very happy with them. -15 deg in the U.P. and never felt the cold.

Are they super quality? I don't know how long they will last but they where easy on and easy off and very comfortable. I tried two other brands at the snow show and these fit the best and were 50% less in cost.

Only $220 o.t.d. with free pair of Ski Doo socks and have worked great for the past 800 miles of snowmobile riding and very comfortable as well.

You could buy a Tek vest with the savings....
