Bikeman pipe and stock shields

I just installed my Bikeman pipe(good welds on mine) and my question is how well does your heat shields fit? Mine are on but there is a couple of prettey good size gaps between the shields. I know there was some gaps on the stock pipe but they were not as bad. Do you think this is ok? Will it still hold the heat?

I think there aren't problem with the heat, don't worry about that.

The pipe being somewhat bigger creates the gaps in the sheild, I installed my own and know what you are talking about but there isn't a problem with it though. -- Bill;
Had the same deal with mine. I guess it's not too bad though.
Thanks everybody I was looking for someone to set my mind at ease!

Here's a question for Bikeman:

So your pipes COME ceramic coated but you recommend using the stock heat shields for that stealth look? I could care less about running stealth, in fact those heat shields will do nothing but hold moisture and ceramic coatings still don't protect 100% from oxidation! My guess is you don't add the brackets to bring the pipe level like Dynoport does so you tell the customer to use the stock shield to make up for it? Any plans to make a ceramachrome version WITH brackets so you DON'T have to run the lame stock shields that cause corrosion???

Thanks,

G MAN

PS - Congrats on getting good numbers from independant reviewers like BC and BJ.
Anybody gonna be at the Toronto or Novi show with them ?

I should have them at the Toronto show provided they get shipped to me on time. -- Bill
If the shields fit perfect then that would mean that the pipe is the same dimensions at the stocker. If that was the case then it would perform like the stocker.

Do to other commitments with the rest of our business we might not be able to make the Toronto show so we've decided to provide FREE Shipping on all EXHAUST PRODUCTS.

Hope that helps you.

If we make it to Toronto we'll be with USI and we'll have products from all leading manufactuers, so stop by the USI SKIS booth and and say "hey".

Our black ceramic coating is very corrosion resistant. The option is avalible to have our pipe cermachrome coated, but we do not do it because we have found the heat shield is better at keeping the pipe a consistent temperature than the cermachrome finish. Also it retains the stock look and sound level to keep the DNR off your back.
Thanks, Tim
Ceramic coating the pipe to keep the external temperatures down has nothing to do with why I have pipes coated, as a matter of fact that had abo****ely nothing to do with it. I have been around snowmobiles probably longer than most so could you enlighten me as to why lowering the external heat of the pipe is an objective. The reason that the mfrs don't ceramic coat the pipes has nothing to do with whether it works or not it is a lot cheaper and sound effective with the external shield. -- Bill
I wonder the same thing as Cudney, I have had pipes ceramic coated for a long and never for exteranl heat I would like to know why you think that is important as it was never a concern by us.

Uhm, did I miss something??? Who was talking about external heat???

Try jet -hot for ceramic coating. They have the best process available today and they cermaic coat most of the US Military Aerospace parts. They also do most of the NHRA Top Fuel and Funny Cars. The original patent is also held by them. And I have had a set of headers on my Cobra that Jet-Hot did 5 years ago and they have still not rusted even when car is driven in rain and exposed to water. Never had ANY signs of rust with Jet-Hot coated pipes...
Hello

I plan to get the BMP Stealth Rev 800 Single Pipe and I ask myself...does it really worth it if the rest of the sled remains stock?

do I have to change de jetting?
do I have to put some reeds for the pipe to work well?

will I really get 9-11 hp increase with the pipe and my stock powertek?

will it change the way my engine run at low rpm?

in fact is it really worth 380$ or should I just enjoy a sled that already goes pretty fine?

renegade 800H.O. powertek 2005

thanks
Antoine
