Are there different types of 800 base gaskets, besides thickness? I saw a post referring to a "5 hole" base gasket.

thanks

Yes there are different types, If you start messing with your head this will be a concern. by milling your head and increasing the thickness of gasket, you with change your port timing, giving you possibily more top end. by trying to increase your compression with stock head by dropping gasket size you could create pre ignition. Do your home work before you mess with different gasket size for what you are doing.

5 hole refers to the thickness of the gasket. Higher the number, thicker the gasket.

5 hole = .5 mm = .020"
6 hole = .6 mm = .024"
7 hole = .7mm = .028"
8 hole = .8mm = .032"

Almost all gaskets run on the SMALL side, usually at least 1 thousandth thinner than indicated..sometimes a many as 3 thousandths thinner.
