So tonight I installed some Auxbeam H4 led headlight bulbs. Maybe this is a dumb question but prior to the install my idle was sitting around 1500. Now with the new bulbs installed, I'm idling at 1900 or so. It's that normal?

thats weird, can you put the old bulbs back and see what it does to the RPM?

I put the original back in last night, rpm dropped back to 1500. Put the led back in again and back up to 1900. Shut the machine off restarted it after a half hour with the led bulbs and it was back to 1500. So now I'm even more confused lol.

I would think the RPM goes up due to an increased load / demand to charge the battery, which does not sound right assuming the LED's draw less, and also it went back down after a while... Maybe it has nothing to do with the light bulbs and just the state of charge of the battery after working on it / cranking the engine over / it sitting around with the ignition on engine not running and whatever..

Try a different brand of led and you may need a driver.

Some do put out different rf interference.

Rode all last weekend without issue. No change in RPM, no flicker. All appears to be ok.
