Anyone Try Simmons Original Flex skis on this model?

Back in the early 2000s I had used the Ski Doo Precision skis on all my sleds both Ski Doo and Yamahas, I really liked them.

As most of you know the Ski Doo Precision was a copy of the Simmons ski.

I never owned a set of Simmons but looking to try them I think it will solve all the darting help with turning.

I hate stock skidoo skis I’ve been using Simmons for almost 20 years. Have used skidoo precision skis with basically the same results. Very good flotation good tight cornering you know what you’re getting.anything will be a little shaky in loose snow. Set up right with good carbides they don’t push unless you have very loose snow again set up correctly they don’t dart unless you’re riding directly in the trail behind another sled with dual carbides move over half a trail length , I also run 6 inch carbides at all four corners.

Finally have a chance to report on the Simmons Original Flex ski with dual 4 inch carbides.
They are Everything I remember from when I had the Precision skis on my skidoos and Yamahas, NO Darting, Way more grip through the corners goes where you point the skis, More stable, no ski lift, Lighter steering, I am in love with My Mach Z all over again.

Can you post pictures of your setup and can these skis still be bought new?

Yes they are available, I bought 5 sets last week with dual 4 inch carbides, My riding partner also put them on his Mach Z and Loves them.

Here is a link Flexi-Ski It is best to call them the web site is junk.

They will likely recommend the Generation 2 or 3 but I stayed with original design I didn't want wider skis due to trailer space and no need for goofy huge skis for trail riding.

The finest wear rods and... we can prove it!
order
Their explanation is a crock of you know what!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oxymoron - High performance - Simmons wear bars
Oxymoron - High performance – Bottom Line carbides

Website - Accessories
Functionally, Simmons carbides for Gen 1 and Gen 2 are still terrible!!! Their original carbides weren't bad enough, so 15 years later they came up with an even worse carbide. Bottom Line carbides are nothing to brag about!!!

Tip to tip the original ski was 43" so halfway would be 21 1/2".

Note the 3" span from ski center to the spindle bolt.

It is common knowledge that Simmons carbides have always worn heavy on the front ends of the Gen I &II skis.

Note that their original 4" carbide started 1/2" in front of the spindle. This does nothing for control!!!

Note that their next latest and greatest 6"carbide starts 1/4" in front of the spindle. That's even worse!!!

In my opinion Simmons Gen I and II are the 2 worst skis functionally ever, for trail riding. For the simple reason, Ski Doo's Precision ski carbides are designed better than the Simmons carbides!!! Besides the fact, the inside carbides on both skis are around 2 to 2 1/2" closer to the center of the sled narrowing the ski stance. A 5th grade snowmobiler could do better!

Why we do not make dual runner rods

It does not matter what the relationship of the lengthwise mid-point of the ski is and the center of the wear rod, when it comes to carbide placement!!!!!!!!!!

Their resistance to changing how their carbide is placed shows a lack of concern for the safety of their Gen I & II customers!!!!!!!

Their Gen III carbides are close to being located correctly yet they still sell the old dis-functional style Gen I & II wear rods.

Here's my 2 cents, any manufacturer who uses attack adds and info to sell there own product whether there is some truth or not loses my respect.

Seems Bergstrom has devoted its entire existence to shooting down it's competitors in an effort to boost its sales.

Sell your product on it's own merits and leave it at that.

Right or wrong I am happy with my choice and will deal with any downsides associated with that choice.

All I know is, in back to back riding I am impressed with the results of my choice.

i been using Simmons ski for over 15 years or more... i been a yamaha guy for a long time and they were very very good skis, they are glued to the trail and i ride hard...a bit hard on the arms but dont forget you re pushing a heavy machine in corners...when we go for long rides a cple days we often switch machine just to change positions and my friend compare the driving with simmons ski like driving a go kart.. i now have a BRP Renegade XRS 90 Ace, and they also work great in corner, but very hard on the arms, on hard snow( mornings) they tend to dart a bit and sometimes more, on lousse snow, perfect... im thinking about trying to put a shim under the rubber mount to see if it will eliminate darting... if anyone has a clue or a beter idea, plz let me know
