I think this code covers injector issues.
Possibly a weak or dirty injector flow.
Possibly bad injector voltage or a corroded terminals.

Not 100% certain on this code, without having my notes at hand.

Try using an injector cleaner, "seafoam" or any other product that is safe and suitable. You will need a high concentration value to clean or improve this condition.

Here is a list I found doing a google search. The post is from 2011.

P0263 Cyl1 Contribution/Balance Fault

http://www.can-amforum.com/forums/can-am-brp/31491-list-error-code-description.html

Here too:

http://buds.diag-systems.net/BUDS-User-Manual-EN.html?p0200_-_p0299.html

In OBDII (general description) :

The powertrain control module (PCM) monitors the power output from each cylinder by comparing the acceleration or increase in speed of the crankshaft during the power stroke of each cylinder.

When one or more cylinders are contributing less power than the rest of the cylinders, the fault code P0263 is set.

Without a mechanical failure being present, example a damaged ring, worn piston, or a scuffed cylinder surface ect....resulting in a loss of 10% or more of a completed combustion cycle a code would could be set.
Most common culprits are related to an injector flow rate restriction....examples....dirt in injector spray pintle...or a reduced voltage to an injector!

Confirm good clean electrical connections to injectors (voltage test) and (resistance loss) test should be carried out if injector cleaner fails to improve flow rate.

This is my little knowledge on these codes. Without bench testing fuel injectors, try a concentrated, quality fuel injector cleaner through some cycles, and confirm good harness connections.

P0263 - MAG cylinder miss fire
P0266 - PTO cylinder miss fire

FYI - These two codes are not shown in the Shop Manuals. The reason they are known is from pictures taken of the BUDS screen showing the description.

Additional notes:

The OP has only 1 post and hasn't been on in years.

No known fix shown on DooTalk that I know of.

These codes are only known to happen on the 2011 800R E-TEC.

Symptoms appear in the midrange anywhere from 5500-7000 rpm.

Hopefully the dealer will know how to fix it.

^^^ Good advice. I would try some seafoam. Do not overdo. It may take few outings to see a difference.

It is pretty amazing that the processor in a snowmobile can sample the crank signal at 7k+ rpm and determine a "wobble".

And do all the other things it needs to do at the same time.

Impressive.

Sorry for a late reply but injectors (etec) should be cleaned and service and flow tested they . Fuel Treatments is a temporary fix and if helps injectors should be sent to diagnostic shop !have seen a lot of these injector go bad and blow engines. If the get lean they burn out the coil in the injectors hope this can help others with injector issues.
