I have an MXZ 700 and would like to do a little tinkering this year. Anyone point me in the right direction? Much appreciated.

Well I would only gear down from 26 to 25( 1 tooth) any more and you will have to change your chain as well, as well you will have to change your clickers on your clutch if you re-gear to low. my .02 cents

Are you asking about what gear ratio to run or how to do it?

yes
tip:

If you tip the sled up on it's side you can take the chaincase cover off without losing all of your oil.

usually you can drop 1 tooth on top without changing the chain, you'll pick up a little more acceleration and won't notice top end loss
