Yesterday was the first day of Fall so I am really starting to plan some trips for this season. Last few seasons I have made my way out to Albany Lodge outside of Laramie, WY. While I am sure others have had different experiences every time I went out there my group had a great time and the convivence of gas, lodging, food, and late night bar on site was amazing.

My last visit in March you could tell there was some things going on within the company. Now they are closed, website down, for sale, rumors of Polaris repossessing the machines SXSs/sleds, bankruptcy, owners disappearing etc. They were on the original site map for 2025 Hay Days but not at the show or on final list of exhibitors.

Does anybody know what is actually going on?

Biggest question is what happens to the forest service grooming contract they had running out of Albany Lodge. They sent 2 tuckers and bully out almost every night. If I am not mistaken the tuckers were not owned by Albany and came as part of the contract and they had and got dropped off at the beginning of each season.

Sad news but hopefully someone comes in an picks up this amazing property and returns it to its glory.

Any insight greatly appreciated.

It was on the auction block this summer, not sure of anybody bought it as it comes with lots of debt.

Grooming contract is taken care of though, they’ll be running groomers this winter. There’s a cabin (three) for rent there now and you’ll have to go through 3C guiding for rental sleds. Fuel would be more the concern now if you’re renting one of the cabins available.

Will be interesting to see how much traffic gets pushed to Green Rock area now. But won’t bother me, as I ride out of Saratoga side.

Yes I meant to update this my buddy from Colorado messaged me and said somebody named Stan picked up the grooming contract for this year. That is awesome news!

Edit: Fuel is always the concern up there. I have been multiple pumps at different places when they were “out” or pumps frozen.

If it went up for auction with the debt I doubt someone would pick that up. I thought they declared bankruptcy?

So happy to hear at least grooming has been picked up. You could park in Albany public lot and ride tome there.
