I was doing some maintenance the other day sense there's no snow. i checked the chain-case oil and there was a lot of metal on it. i had recently installed a reverse kit and was getting nervous i did something wrong. so i pulled the cover and found on signs of wear. wheres all this metal coming from / is it normal?

If your not missing any teeth on the gears and the chain is good your fine. Thats why there is a magnet on the dipstick just check your chain tension.

it's doing it's job, chains and gears wear, even when in a chain lube bath. nothing to worry about. clean the magnet regularly and adjust chain tension regularly. change fluid once a season. ski
