For about two months I have been trying to find and buy the add on radiator kit for my 2016 MXZ-X 4-Tech 1200 129 XS.
After countless phone calls and emails I finally located a dealer who supposedly has 7 in stock. The problem is that it's here: Eskimos Inc. in Barrow, AK . Because there are no roads Barrow gets its stuff either by plane, or barge in summer. Since I'm in the state of Maine, and about as far as you can get from Barrow on the continent, getting one from them is an impossibility. I'm still looking but I think I'm doomed to failure. Yes I have very effective tunnel mounted scratchers that work on ice and when the track is frozen, but sledding on warm days sucks. I've even been looking for wrecks for parting out. No joy yet. The original kit sells for $635, I would go up to $800 just to get my hands on one. Interestingly, BRP recently no longer has a part number for this kit. One day it had a number, the next day it had disappeared from their part lists.

I have a '17 1200 137" Grand Touring. It came with the auxiliary radiator/fan/hoses from the factory. I'm not convinced that it does anything more than increase under-hood temps. If I'm riding in conditions where cooling is an issue, it's already too late by the time the fan kicks on (212°F)....and the temp doesn't drop, it just takes a little longer to keep climbing.

Maybe try adding some ski mounted scratchers?

I'm sure you have the part number already but, from the 2018 accessories catalog (page 161):

Wow, you really did hunt to dig some up in Barrow! The only thing further would be if you’d found them on St. Lawrence Island! LOL
On a serious note though, good luck tracking down your part. Hopefully you can find a way to get one.

My wifes '13 GSX 137 with the factory installed radiator never goes above 4 bars on the temp gauge. Fan comes on at 4 bars going slow or idling. My '09 shorty will peg the bars and trip the overheat warning idling for the same length of time.
That radiator kit really works well. Gives me peace of mind when we are stuck on a sketchy section as she doesn't' have to bang into plow mounds or off the trail to stay cool like me.

Not trying to be argumentative. Perhaps the "rules" are different between 2013 and 2017 model years.

I wish my fan kicked on at 4 bars. It does not kick on until coolant temp reaches 212° F, exactly as described in the service manual.

If the bars to degrees conversion mentioned in this thread is accurate: 2010 Ski-Doo Temperature Gauge "bars" /Actual... then my fan doesn't kick on until 5 bars.

I tried to find the bars to actual degree range conversion in the manuals I have but, I can't find that info anywhere....yet.
