Does it have the original engine in it? According to my spec book, the 99 Grand Touring SE has the 700cc triple in it. They didn't put the 800cc triple in the GT SE until 2001. Then in 2002 it went to the 800 twin.

Ahhh.... I see it now. It's a misprint in my spec book. I do remember my friend describing the sled as "a single piped Mach Z LT with a seat for two".

97 GT SE was a 700cc triple/triple.
98-up GT SE's were 800 triple/singles.

I was just checking them out on ebay. They made a black and also a maroon colored one with matching idler wheels. The handwarmers had five settings and the suspension had an air shock that was adjustable while driving. You might want to post in the mach z forum as it was a ck3. Just what anyone needs, a super fast sled to zip the kids around on.

The only problems they had with that sled was wiring and track issues in the 1998 models. 99 Model was great. Not something you'd want to pull the kids around the yard with. They were nicknamed "rocket couch" for a good reason. Will hit about 110+ mph without even breaking a sweat. 150ish HP with a ton of torque due to the single pipe. A good friend of mine bought an '01 for him and his wife. He ended up selling it and buying 2 smaller sleds, just wasn't much fun with 2 people on it trying to ride on the trails.

They were definately Doo's flagship model, with every bell and whistle you could ever possibly put on it.

have had mine for 3 seasons,(99 800 )wish it was lighter and less tippy in the turns at times but you get used to it, helps if your a big guy with some weight to keep it planted coming out of corners when applying a little to much throttle.
"Rocket couch" is a great description by the way, so keep er straight and let her hang!
Love the air spring adjust on the fly, comfy seat, ability to stretch out, and to carry two when needed, ( not too good around corners with two) very tippy indeed
The 800 triple is an absulute brute of an engine in this sled, and sounds sweet to boot, clutch for more low end snap and you will give your buds with light weight twins fits all day long.

Sorry to correct but no 800 triple with a single pipe made 150 H.P. They did however make that kind of horses with the triple pipes. Single 800"s like my Flll are 130-135 H.P.

I picked up a 99 last season, my buddy has a 98 with the 700 in it. For some reason, he is always going around corners on one ski, but I haven't had the same concerns with mine. I have the middle shock fairly soft, and the front shocks on the hard side.
Yes, it is fast, 100mph with two on it, and there was more squeeze left. That was registered on my GPS, I was too busy to look at the speedo. The best thing, is the sound, and the acceleration coming out of a corner.
