why are my pistons overheating only on the exhaust side of the piston any help would be great.​

Is the head modified, i.e. cut? It sounds like the squish height is set too low.

It should be a MINIMUM of .055". If it is below that, you need to get a new head or put a bigger base gasket in it.

If it is in that range, you need to be running no less than 91 octane fuel.
