Hi all
I have just picked up a 91 Safari GLX cheap! The machine is in very good condition
but
The adapter shaft in the chaincase snapped. I am told this is common
and locally the part is no longer available
I have a few old chaincases kicking around and was wondering
if it is easily converted to a standard top and bottom sprocket
foreward only setup or if I have to
try to repair / replace the adapter shaft

You will to use another "regular chaincase" and im quite sure the drive axle also ,becaus it wiill be too short.DId you check for used parts?Are you in Canada?

I am in Thunder Bay Ontario Canada
The only real used parts dealer here is
brutal ... to call him a lying two faced piece of

I guess that is what happens when you are the
only game in town
If anyone has that shaft or knows where to find one
please let me know

Rob,
I assume you must have tried Arnie Sr. at Superior motors. There's been a few times where he's actually had some parts kicking around. Worth a try...

Arne Jr and my kid play hockey at Grandview
They are good people to deal with
I have allready spoke to them, they don't have
as much older stuff as they used to
limited storage space etc

The other guy's out dawson road are a waste of time

I am taking the shaft to the machine shop I deal
with on monday
