My seals are leaking and I am just about to replace them. Do I need to remove the plate that the seals are pressed in to? Or can I just remove the plastic nuts on the shaft and pick out the old seals?

PS
I am sure this is answered somewhere but I cannot find it
The new seals I purchased are the updated seals

I am open to any other tips. Thanks in advance!

Depending on mileage you may want to just pull the raves, clean them, and install a new gasket along with the new seals. Not an overly long or difficult job and, contrary to what BRP says, does not require buds if you don't change the adjuster on the cable.

Popped in the new ones this morning with only removing the plastic nut. Little tricky pulling them with the picks but they eventually gave.
Going back in took some time figuring out...
For those installing new seals push in the bottom part of the seal first and work it around until fully seated.

I'm only at 2200 miles so I'm going to hold off on the gasket and cleaning for a bit longer. And yes hoping to not have to sync.. I marked the adjuster nut so I should be good.

Thanks again fellas!

You should be good if you're using good oil the only thing you have to worry about is carbon if you're using the wrong oil sometimes you can just spray the rav valves with carb cleaner and put it back together like you got it

No, use a pic to get the seals out the u can get them back in by hand but u have to be careful not to roll the edge of the seal when installing it cuz then u have to get it back out and can damage it. 1 went in like butter and the other side I had to fight a little. Make sure to lube them with oil first. I also used a rolled large pic tool to seat them flushly in the bore. Just make sure ur not suing anything Sharp that can damage seal. Not and overly bad job honestly. I didn't need to use buds or anything after to sync raves either. Hitting 7900 rpm and engine performance was perfect.hope this helps.
