800r Airbox, Bigger and Better, Will it work on older 800

I just saw the other day in the technical update book from ski-doo and saw that there was a change to the airboxes in the new 800R summits. They have increased the size of the primary (inner one or the one that is attached to carbs) airbox and improved airflow in the secondary(outer Panel mounted one) airbox. I was just wondering if anyone else has seen this and thought of this to be a good performance improver on the older 800 revs. They should go right in the carburetors are still 40 mm and the rev panels haven't changed.

i was setting up a 800r when i left work tonight and will try it tomorrow morning but i don`t see why it won`t fit .you should get good results with minor changes to the carburation.will let you know soon.

yes the new airbox fit but you should also go with the auxiliary side intake too,must have beter air flow too.by the way,this new engine is awsome .incredible throtle response!!!!!!can`t wait till they put this 800r in a 121 incher....i use to run mach-z for years but considering one of those things!!!!
