I'm attempting to tear down the engine in hopes of a rebuild. I'm having trouble with the nut holding the mag on the shaft. Is it right or left hand threads?
Any must dos, gotchas, you shoulda dones or any general advice you want to add?

thanks, I love this forum

R.h. threads.Put a rope on top of piston to block it from turning.Use a puller to remove the flywheel to not damage crank or flywheel.

I already have the cases split and pistons off. I now have the crank with bearings, and the mag/flywheel on one end and the square ended clutch shaft on the other. Does this clutch shaft detach from the crank shaft? I took out the long bolt that runs into the shaft.

yes the clutch shaft comes off the crank. If you already removed the crank from the motor you'll probably have to try an impact to get the nut off then use puller to remove flywheel. get a manual of some kind.
