2009 600 etec decided to eat a wrist pin bearing. Root cause was I didn't install the wire retainer properly when doing the complete engine rebuild. Lesson learned :( Anyways I have located all pieces of the cage and accounted for all of the needle bearings. My question is the head got beat up. Im trying to find a good used one but is there any saving this one?

It was a caged bearing. I found all the needles still in the rod end. I pieced together the cage and found 1 small missing piece. That missing piece was found stuck in the top of the piston. Im 99.99% sure the lower end is good. Before I reassemble the top I will definetly try to blow out the crank case and maybe use a small magnet to look for any debris in there.

I will take the head to work and Chek it for flatness. When I did the motor last I checked the piston to wall clearance and ring gap. Also check the squish or quench as my kit came with 3 different gaskets. Ill doo the same this time but also make sure I have the wrist pin circlip In correctly this go around 🤬
