I will be doing a top end rebuild on my 2006 mxz 500ss.

Any suggestions as to where to buy my parts would be much appreciated. I did hear that spi pistons work well? Thank you!

Thanks for the input! I have heard that the duel rings shed heat away from the piston more efficiently.

Go with a kimpex "spx" dual ring piston best bang for your buck . Its really up to you on how much your wanting to spend. be SURE your ring END GAP is within spec when installing new pistons . Also check your squish as this is important also .

What I need to to do is get a repair manual. I'm not sure what squish is. Could someone fill me in on what that is? Thanks in advance.

10 min on one and 1500 on another. Squish is the the space between the piston and the head. U tube has some good videos on how the measure this. And don't go kimpex. It's cheap for a reason. MCB or wossner make a quality product.
