It's about 10 deg F here in NW PA today, and I'm going to ride tonight. Is this the time to open the carb heaters on my 500SS? So far, I've had them shut. Is there a particular temp point at which they should be opened?

only turn them on if you need them, when you start out you'll notice it running rich , stop and turn them on till it cleans up then shut them off

i think the manual says to use them below -10 C. I usually use them when it's colder than that and speciffically if i'm following in the fine snow dust when really cold out. i leave them on the whole ride, from start up to shut down until it gets warmer out.
