I have read a bunch a threads on the stock reed spacers being too thick (3/8"). The effect of the thick spacer causes a low end stumble and lack of throttle response.
I was wondering if anyone has tried milling the stock spacers down (instead of purchasing new ones) to 1/4"? I have a buddy that could shave the stock ones down for me for free.
I put the narrow reed spacers in an '05 with Boyeson reed petals and the machine runs worse. It now has more of a flat spot in lower mid range, (maybe a bad reed). It never made it more responsive, lost some of the snap. '05 800 Summit with CPI pipe and can. I had ther pipe and can on before the spacer change and the thing worked!!
This is an older thread, you may not receive a response, and could be reviving an old thread. Please consider creating a new thread.
