Seems like they messed this up by not putting the option of smart shox on this sled as well as an electric start option. Shot will be nice, but pulling a cord at -15f will suck. I’m surprised they have not came up with an optional Li-ion battery pack that would plug in and give you the first start of the morning, that would be slick. Also sounds like they will be very limited, like 3-4 or less per dealer, guessing they are going to do a soft roll out, see how the warranty repairs go then expand to more models/options next year.

I recall reading when SHOT first came out that it only works on a warm engine. There is no mechanical/electrical starter motor, it is now just the charging system that is run in reverse to become a starting system.

So even if it had 120 volt power to the sled, this technology won't work on a cold engine.

people seem to be saying this but it’s called the ‘competition package’ not the ‘I’m getting soft and need electronic shocks and e start to ride‘ package. People with that kind of riding style got the regular xrs nerfed. Leave something for the rest of us who actually like adjusting our shocks and want the pull start with shot.

Competition package - THUMBS UP! Great to see an XRS (+) calibrated sled again.
No 850 NA - Thumbs DOWN.
3 position clicker - Humm. I'd say thumbs down normally, but my 3 postion center on my Smart Shox sled is working quite well for me. Plus they have rebound on the Comp package. Don't love that it's not full range clickers, but its not the worst thing in the world. Should have had the fancy triple adjust that are on the race sleds...

I think one of the biggest win's that is not talked much about is the return of a properly equipped X package. Good shocks, incl PRO 36 EA-3 on the fronts, forward steering post. I think the return of a proper X package is great for the masses. Not my sled, but sure wish it was like this when my wife bought her 2022 MXZ X...

It’s not like you have 22 clicks in the old days of the pro 40’s. Whats the difference if you flip the switch on the dash, or get off the sled and make an adjustment to the EA-3’s. In all reality, if you want adjustability, go with the lynx rave and get the Hi/Lo compression with rebound. These shocks on the comp package are a cop out compared to the lynx!!!! Heck, looks like the 600R in the comp package gets the standard 22 click shocks and the 850T gets the EA-3.

In the end, it does not matter anyway, in 2025, this engine option will be in more sleds and most likely have E start and SS. In the end, it’s everyone’s choice what they like, makes it easier if they give you options.
